Guides for Training

GROW Coaching Guide

I developed this guide as an additional resource for an online course that reviews the GROW coaching model for sales leaders.

I aligned it with the course content, adding a description of each step, what leading questions to ask as the sales manager and a scenario that demonstrated how the conversation should look for each step. I developed the design of the guide using elements and images in Canva.

Portion Size Guides

For a USDA training with school cooks, I developed portion sizing handouts the cooks can print out and hang in their kitchens as quick reference materials. I collaborated with USDA SMEs within the Early Childhood Education company and conducted my own research on portion sizing in children to write and design the course and handouts. The main goal of this training was to reduce the incidences of children choking during meals.

Facilitator Guide

Below is a facilitator guide that I created as part of a Tour Best Practices Train the Trainer program for school leadership. I also developed the content and slides based on enrollment guides and other materials that were developed within the Early Childhood Education company as an initiative to increase the number of children enrolled at all the schools (to increase revenue).

The guide contains trainer notes, activity instructions, and general facilitation best practices.

eLearning Courses

Deal Reviews Course

This is an online course with a mixture of different media and activities such as videos, discussion boards, role plays, and slides that review best practices around conducting deal reviews as a sales leader. The SMEs used were sales leaders from different regions including international regions within the company to ensure the content was accurate and relevant to the role. This was the first course launched as part of a Sales Leader Academy where I developed the logo to unify and elevate the program and set design standards for future courses. Explore the slideshow that showcases some of the course below - these are derived from my storyboard for SME and Stakeholder reviews. I also designed and developed a deal review checklist as an additional resource and job aid.

Mastering Sales Calls

Mastering Sales Calls is a micro-learning series that preps sales professionals on conducting successful sales calls.

After attending a needs analysis call with several SMEs and Stakeholders, it was apparent that the sales professionals at the tech company needed a series that addressed several problems or performance gaps that I identified into these 4 main areas of sales calls:

  • Lack of basic meeting preparation

  • Lack of understanding of how to conduct a sales meeting or meeting facilitation

  • Lack of relationship building with customers in meetings

  • Lack of business acumen and confidence when conducting customer meetings

Based on my analysis, I created several learning objectives that needed to be addressed in 3 different modules of the series:

  • Module 1 - Planning, Prepping, and Coordinating the Call

  • Module 2 - Navigating the Meeting and Engaging the Customer

  • Module 3 - Maintaining Momentum with Next Steps

These modules contain various media and activities to engage the sales audience including Missions and a Role Play activity in which I created a facilitator guide to help managers conduct these in their own regions (APJ, Americas, etc.).

Explore some of the slides and content used including a copy of the Role-Play Activity down below.

Suicide Assessment Course using Articulate Rise

Developed an online module to train incoming staff at a mental health clinic on how to evaluate a patient on suicidality and the steps to take when conducting the suicide assessment. Shown is a behavior analysis to identify the skills needed to effectively achieve the learning objective including pre-requisite skills. Also shown is a screen recording of the course.

Gamification in Training

Onboarding Game

To gamify the onboarding path for new early childhood educators, I designed a handout that outlines the steps they should be taking and specific milestones at a Early Childhood Education company. To further engage the staff, I included stopping points and fun elements. Onboarding can be a stressful time for any new hire and this handout makes the experience more enjoyable for any new school employee.

LMS Scavenger Hunt

Co-leading the launch of implementing a new contract with an LMS program, I designed a virtual scavenger hunt to encourage participation amongst the staff. The purpose was to increase initial logins while helping staff learn the platform. I strategically planned each task to allow the user to take advantage of the main features of the platform such as discussion boards, bookmarking courses for future use, personalizing profiles with avatars, inputting training interests to help customize their learning, and more. The hunt also aligned with the internal gamification features of the LMS, for example each time a user performs an action or takes a course, they earn points and move up the leaderboard. This feature allowed us to track each item to ensure the user completed the "Become a swbcU Expert" - the learning path created to include the hunt with a survey to assess training needs.

Let's talk and create your masterpiece together!
